Truetone Productions Promotion

A few weeks back we announced a new partnership with Truetone Productions. This morning I received an email newsletter and discovered they are doing a special promotion for Showit users!

Here is the snippet from the email...

"We've teamed up with Showitfast.com to offer our premium music to photographers and other users. Showit Users take 15% off all music! For a limited time we're offering Showit users 15% off a Custom Soundtrack, and 10% off licensed production music.

Create Your Unique Sound: Tell us what you're looking for and we'll create a custom soundtrack written specifically for you and licensed for your exclusive use. Join the likes of cinematicbride.com, merakoh.com, danesanders.com, clarkwalkerstudio.com, and many more!

We've also used Showit to totally re-vamp our own website, see it here: www.truetoneproductions.com. You can quickly and easily listen to pre-cleared and licensed music ready for purchase, hear custom soundtracks we've done for other clients, and keep up with all the latest."

Showit FAQ Post by The Youngrens

We love when people make their website with Showit...

We love it more when they talk about how much they love working with Showit...

But what we love the most is when people start evangelizing Showit. When a Showit user openly shares the process of building their website with the intention of helping others build a great website...that just makes us feel blessed.Last week The Youngrens put up a really great FAQ post on building a website with Showit. They break it down into 5 very digestible points.
  1. Start with a plan...
  2. Be unique...
  3. Make it about what it should be about...
  4. Don't go crazy with transitions text...
  5. Test drive it on a "normal" computer...
If you're building a Showit website you should read the entire post here...

Tips and Tricks: Favicons in Showit

Learn Showit recently did a cool little post on how to add an animated favicons to your website.

"In this most recent update from Showit, we now have the capability to add HTML to the header before exporting the HTML pages instead of having to open up the page in an HTML editor such as Notepad++. One great example of the use of this new feature is the ability to easily add an animated favicon. Using this favicon generator you can easily generate a static favicon, an animated favicon, and a favicon for Apple iPod and iPod Touch...."

Interview with Dave Cross Online

We were pretty stoked when Dave Cross from dave cross online did a blog post about Showit, and then even more stoked when he asked to interview DJ on his blog. For those of you that don't know Dave he is the Director of Curriculum for the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP), so he is a pretty smart guy...and he's a pretty nice guy.

You can check out the interview here.

Updates....yea....

Be on the lookout for a nice update next week with a killer new gallery feature! We have 5 new galleries coming and I am so so so excited about them! Here is a sneak peak of one gallery that you'll be able to create in less than 5 seconds! Simply drag a group of images in and you instantly have a full screen gallery with a customizable "hover on/off" thumbnails window. Brett's been jamming on these for the past month and they turned out even better and cooler and easier than we had planned!

Aaron's also been working on updating the backend of our Media Lab to help you make more money! Our Media Lab delivered over 4000 DVD's last year and is now doing over 400/month! We put over $175,000 in photographers pockets last year and we're excited to make you even more money this year!

In order to do this we listened to your advice and axed Paypal as a payout option b/c of their heavy fees for biz accounts which many of you have.

Lastly we added in the ability to download and fill out your W9 right inside your account. We are required by law to collect these from you so another change is that we must now collect this form before we pay you but don't worry it's only 13 pages long. Just kidding. :) It's short so get it filled out and get your cash.

Ok...That's it! Rock on!
